An Owner Builder is someone who constructs or oversees the . construction, additions or renovations of their own house and is not a registered builder.
A 137B inspection report (also known as an Owner Builder or defect inspection report) is required by law if you decide to sell your home within 6.5 years of completion.
Weather you built the whole house, did a small addition or just did a small renovation; eg. a bathroom, kitchen, deck, verandah/pergola, carport, shed or just a pool barrier, it still applies. It doesn’t matter if it required a permit or not or, how much it cost.
